Bradford County Emergency Management Press Release - Sandbag Distribution Notice

By FDOH Bradford Staff

August 28, 2015

EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT SANDBAG DISTRIBUTION NOTICE

Due to the recent rainfall Bradford County is already saturated.  It is too early to tell how much rain we are going to get from Tropical Storm Erika but according to The National Weather Service, if the storm stays on the current project path, we could experience heavy rainfall over the next 4 to 6 days. This could mean flooding for some of our residences in Bradford County, City of Starke, Lawtey, Hampton, and Brooker.

Sandbag operations have been set up in the City of Starke and Bradford County. Filled sandbags can be picked up in front of Starke City Hall [209 N Thompson St] or Hielbronn Springs Volunteer Fire Department [21412 NW SR 16] starting Saturday, August 29th at 9:00 am There will be a 40 bag limit per vehicle so we can keep the line moving and serve as many people possible.
